Ali’s Four Bodies of Work
Ali embodies and advocates for nonviolence in action through four bodies of work, all of which are focused on achieving durable peace and security for Palestinian and Israeli people.
Taghyeer
Change
The Taghyeer Palestinian National Nonviolence Movement is a network of Palestinian grassroots communities and leaders that practice and promote nonviolence to unify Palestinian people. This network aims to engage communities to achieve an end to the Palestinian-Israeli conflict through nonviolence.
Roots
History
Roots is a bi-national initiative that brings together Israeli residents in Gush Etsion and Palestinians in nearby towns to engage in dialogue and bridge-building to help end the Palestinian-Israeli conflict. Roots is centered on the mutual recognition that Palestinians and Israelis both have a connection to the land.
Karama Peace Center
Dignity
The Karama Peace Center sits in the Gush Etzion Junction in the West Bank, surrounded by six Israeli settlements. The center is a gathering space where Palestinians and Israeli settlers can come together for community building and conversation around nonviolence. It has hosted a range of individuals, from those in the Palestine Liberation Organization to Israeli Defense Force soldiers. It is the home of the Roots initiative.
Huia
Identity
Huia is a Palestinian Peace Initiative that seeks to extend Ali’s life experience and nonviolence ideology into global conversations. In doing so, Huia builds political will to recognize the connection both Palestinians and Israelis have to the land and creates an environment for durable solutions to the conflict, where all people can celebrate their identities and belong without harm.
